I work full time weekdays and have my daughter on the weekends. She is a preteen and I'm suddenly faced with a completely different set of challenges. One day she's a child, now she's becoming a woman. I'd like to build her sense of self and responsibilty to give her tools for later. I'm looking for friends who have kids this age and for ideas and support for raising my daughter. |

My eleven-year-old daughter loves horses. She rides every Friday and up until recently wanted to be a horse breeder. She started off with questions from the very beginning. Early talker. She likes to play on the computer, with her DS, movies, and Open Gym (freestyle gymnastics). She's tall and she's frequently confused for a few years older. I'm very proud of her - can you tell? Her father and I divorced when she was 3. No significant other at this point. Her father has had a girlfriend that lives with him since she was 3. She doesn't like her "step mom" very well. We usually mix up words and sentences to make things interesting - then we end up doing it on accident - and the fun nevery ends. When we're together, it's like Dr. Seuss came to visit. :) |
