Before having my own child I taught the art of signing to families throughout Colorado. While studying Speech Language Communciations at the University of Colorado, I was amazed to learn that children have the ability to sign long before they can verbalize their needs and wants. Not only does this give them a huge advantage in the are of Communication, it drastically cuts down on frustration induced tantrums. Imagine being in a foriegn country where no one can undecrstand you or what you need. For your infant your home can be that foriegn country. Using ASL Sign Language, you are giving your child the opportunity to communicate with you months before they are ready to verbalize. My course is practical, fun and will have a life changing impact on how you relate to your child. I cried the first time my daughter signed the word Milk. Our babies understand more about the world than we give them credit for and the simplest signs will afford them the opportunity to engage you in ways you never expected!
