I am a stay at home mom who knows no other moms with a toddler age child. Due to my son's disorder I sometimes feel isolated from the moms I do meet because I can tell they are uncomfortable about getting together not fully understanding his disorder. I'm hoping to meet some moms maybe going through the same thing and looking for a friend as I am. I love being a stay at home mom, my husband and my life which-is my son. |

My son just turned three. He is very sweet and compassionate for his age. Shares well and listens pretty well, he is 3 after all. He has speech apraxia. A disorder that means he understands you, and he can perform all motor mouth movements, but his brain can't seem to coordinate his mouth with words so a lot gibberish is the outcome. He can speak some words but they are not always clear. Causes a lot of frustration on both sides. He tries so hard to make friends and make himself understood but he just can't. We sign ASL some. My husband is a fireman who is very sweet and understanding. We met in high school and have been together since. No breaks. He is my soul mate. |
