About Me
I work full time as an Employment Specialist assisting people with disabilities in finding and keeping jobs. I have 2 sons, age 21 and 18 who are in college and a daughter who is 13 and has been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, MSG Syndrome and most recently, Disruptive Behavior Disorder:NOS. I am looking to connect with other moms who have challenges with their teenage girls to help me determine what is 'normal' for a 13 year old girl and what is my daughter's disability at work. I recently had to pull my daughter out of the 8th grade to home school her making my weeks long! I have a BA in medical sociology from Boston University and an MS in Science Education from the University at Albany. I am also a NYS certified science teacher grades 7 -12.

About My Family
My oldest son is in his 4th year at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY. He is a kind, patient, loving and supportive young man who aspires to be a United Methodist minister. He is in a relationship with a lovely young woman who I hope he will be with always. My second son, who is 18, is in his 1st year at Roberts Wesleyan College and aspires to be either a lawyer or victims counselor as he is studying criminal justice and psychology. He has a wonderful sense of humor and is very musically talented having taught himself to play 5 instruments. His Heavy metal Christian Rock band, Crucify the Masses has been offered a music contract. My youngest and only daughter is 13 and has a number of disabilities including Asperger's Syndrome, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, MSG Syndrome and Disruptive Behavior Disorder:NOS...although, her psychiatrist says the last one, which was diagnosed by a neuropsychologist after working with her for only 2 hours,is a product of her medication, zoloft, and subsequently she is no longer on it. My daughter presents a number of challenges. Her anxiety has gotten so bad with school, that I had to pull her out to homeschool her recently. My husband, Nick, is a loving, generous and patient man. We will be married 24 years on 6/7/2010. He is my best friend and tries very hard to support me with our daughter.
