| Mother of three children ranging in ages 2 through 17, all from same marriage. My two year old was our "20th" wedding anniversary present!! I am an Infant Development Specialist. I created the original program which was a pre & post-natal program for St. Joseph's Hospital and ran it until May 2000 when I left to begin a new adventure in a non-profit resource center that provides classes for families with children ranging in ages 6 weeks through 5 years. I created, taught, and trained teachers for the infant developmental programs offered throughout the Tampa Bay/Brandon area. I also am a WSI (Red Cross Water Safety Instructor), Swim America certified, AAP approved (American Association of Pediatrics) and created the "Gentle Touch" water submersion technique. I am also certified to teach Musik Garden. I am on the "Ask the Expert" panel of an Internationally known Woman's Website (Ivillage.com), write for publications and currently working on a book called; "52 Weeks: A week by week developmental guide of games to play with your Baby in his first year." I will explain when, how, why, and what to do with your baby from birth until his first birthday. It is based upon the "multiple intelligence theory," and describes and explains the differences between girls and boys as they learn, takes into consideration the different personalities and also explains how to utilize the "Magic Hour," which is essentially the "sweet spot," of your child's optimal learning hour in his/her day. I work with playgroups and groups of friends whose children play together so it is a unique setting because of the intimacy of people already knowing and feeling comfortable with each other. Last but certainly not least, I have a program where I will come into your home to help you understand where your child is developmentally and provide you with personalized games, songs, and finger-play activities all designed to help your child achieve milestones optimally. |

| I have been with my husband since 1986 (23 years) and we have a 17 year old daughter (will be a senior in high school in September), a 12 year old daughter (will be in 7th grade in September), and a 2 year old son. I grew up in Chapel Hill, NC where I met my husband and we moved to NYC where I studied Forensic Psychology and planned to work with juveniles and save them all. After briefly working at the Juvenile Detention Center I realized that my life's goal to make a difference in the world through helping children was not going to be with this group I realized in order to make that change it would need to happen in the years that actually shape a child; birth through three. So, I went back to school and also studied under the Bright Starts in an Infant Development Program. I began my first program almost 17 years ago in NY and when we moved to Tampa I brought it with me. After the birth of my second child I met an incredibly talented woman at St. Joseph's Hospital that had worked in gymboree. She and I began building the Pregnagym program which was a pre & postnatal fitness program. She left for family reasons and coincidentally the program was taking off at leaps & bounds.... I was able to build and expand the program from Babies 6 weeks all the way into Kids in Motion for 3 & 4 years. It became a full time job which was far more than I ever expected or wanted so I resigned to raise my children in April 2000. But, I missed it so in May 2000 I began teaching the first classes for Baby Bungalow in Tampa. The rest is history..... Now
I want to take it to the next step.... so I will rely on my trusted and loved Mother, Fathers, Grandmother's & Grandfather's, Aunts & Uncles, Nanny's, and everyone who is involved in the life and development of young children for help to take the unique program to the next step for the Greater Tampa Bay/Brandon/St. Pete/Clearwater area. By bringing a child's life back to the "it takes a community to raise a child" we can give our children the best start in life; a solid foundation! |
