| My name is Karyn Williams. I am a singer, songwriter and author out of Nashville, TN.
The reason I am interested in your website is because I have just released a book that I wrote with my dad called, "The Takeaway." Two years ago, as I was preparing to move to Nashville, I was trying to think of the perfect "going away" present for my dad. Nothing felt sufficient, so I decided to write him a card in which I thanked him for all he had invested into my life, and then I made a list of his most important life lessons that I would carry with me -- my personal list of "takeaways." My dad got so excited about the message of the card that he immediately said, "This is a book!" and "The Takeaway" was born.
The response has been overwhelming, and so I wanted to share this information with the members on RaisingThem because I believe it will be a wonderful tool to encourage parents of young children.
The heart of the message of this book is simply this: Parents, you ARE getting through to your children even when you think you're not. And children - your parent's advice IS important, it IS applicable and one day it will all click and you'll realize they DID know what they were talking about! :-) My dad and I are living proof of that, and I would love for your members to hear the message of "The Takeaway".
