My family is somewhere between the Cleavers and the Adams family. My husband and I only have one child, a son. We try to say yes to him as often as possible but we also are firm believers in disciple and high expectations.
I previously joined "Mommy & Me" and attended a few events and noticed that a lot of the parents stood around in a circle talking without paying attention to their children. Some of the older siblings were playing in the toddler area and bullying the younger children and their parents were oblivious to it. A toddler that I didn't even know came up to tell me because I was the only adult paying attention.
With that being said, I don't want to sound like one of those crazy over-protective parents because that is definitely not the case. I give my son free reign of the playground, I allow him to explore on his own terms, I allow for some bullying when the bullies are within his age group. I am just looking for parents who pay attention to what their children are doing and are willing to step in and correct their behavior when necessary. |

I have one son. He is relatively laid back. His two favorite tv shows are currently "Blues Clues" and "Yo Gabba Gabba." He loves animals, even if they run from him because he hasn't quite mastered being gentle yet. He is a very curious child and loves being outside, even if it's only in the backyard throwing rocks.
He also loves to take contol of my computer whenever possible so I have installed Alphababy to prevent him from moving any files or anything. His middle name is Danger and it's pretty fitting because he is pretty fearless. |
