my family, my baby boy, baking, sewing, arts and crafts, singing, music, Italy, Paris, Pastries from anywhere, gardening, gardens, movies (chick flicks, comedies like 40 year old vergin and knocked up..., period pieces { I love big floofy dresses!}, Disney and Pixar films, some comic book themed films like Iron Man, Hell Boy and Batman, no horror flicks. I get too scared:-) ), TV( scrubs, BSG, House, dirty jobs, Alton Brown's good eats, science channel, discovery channel, ), coffee, tea, high tea, any and all PBS movies by Jane Austin!, traveling ( though I don't get to do it nearly enough), Nerd culture {I'm married to a big geek and must keep up!:-) } |

| I am the mother of a 19 month old, and a stay at home mom with a new home based business.I am a pastry chef and opera singer by trade though I do not currently make a living at eightert. I LOVE being a mother and have waited to be able to call myself a mom for so long that I pinch myself all of the time to make sure it's really true. Happy me! My husband is the most wonderful man I've ever met and he's the best dad in the world in my eyes.
My problem? I'm lonely. We just moved to Palm Springs to be near my mother-in-law to help her through a tough divorce. Once here, we realized we were far more isolated than we planned on. I have no support group and I NEED to socialize and so does my little boy!!! He's 19 months old now and he doesn't get to play with other kids very often and once the HOT summer months get here there will be no more playing at the park. Only indoor activities or pool time will when it's 120 degrease outside. So I've got to get some relationships built asap! Our local YMCA only has programs for ages 3 and up and the same is true for our leisure center. There's no gymboree within 40 miles and the same seems to be true for "mommy and me" groups. There IS a desert children's museum but it seems to be quite expensive and still only has limited classes for children his age.
HELP!

| My little boy "E" a 19 month old handful! He is such a happy kid. He loves to play and get into everything. Really gets a kick out of drums and dancing right now. If music comes on he's sure to stop mid-step and dance a bit. Gets a kick out of electronics and buttons. He's staring to want to climb everything now. His favorite food is berries! ALL berries! and it's herd to go out to eat 'cause if he sees a french fry...that's all he wants.
My husband is a freelance writer and internet producer. He is the host of his own paintball internet show (www.pblive.tv on Wednesday nights at 7 pm PST) We are fortunate that right now he gets to spend most of his time working from home. This means "E" end I get spoiled with daddy time as much as we want and I get all the help I need and want. |
