| I am a 22 year old graduate student. I am currently working part time as a pediatric speech and language therapist, and part time as a nanny. After graduate school I would like to work full time as a speech and language pathologist with children in a clinical or private in home visit situation.
I am very easy going, but extremely organized, tidy, and a bit of a neat freak. I just like order :)
I am looking for other women to talk to who are married to or dating musicians so that I can discuss my feelings and thoughts in hopes of finding I am not alone.
My boyfriend and I have been dating for a year and a half now (as of Dec. 2008). His band is currently still a local band (They have been together just 2 years now) They play every weekend (Friday and Saturday nights) as well as at least one weekday night. We are in a long distance relationship and so the band complicates things even more, because the weekends are the only times we can see each other and I am usually the one making the 2 1/2 hour drive to where he lives (my hometown). His band is growing drastically in gigs, offers, and popularity. They are now beginning to research and look into touring.
My boyfriend and I have talked about getting married, but only just recently. Being married to a traveling musician terrifies me. I don't like the idea of him being gone for months at a time. I will be a working professional myself and won't be able to go touring with him. Also, when children come into the picture, that will add to the situation. I need to know it's possible and how women do it...tips, tricks, on anything, especially how to stay sane. I feel like I will miss him so much I will want to kill myself. |
