| I am energetic, passionate, entrepreneurial and dedicated to starting a group that supports other moms (or dads) that are struggling with raising a teenager with mental health issues, including additions and gender identity. |

| My son is 14 years old and he has recently come out to us that he is gay. he suffers from depression, ODD, Anxiety, ADHD and was an abuser of drug and alcohol. He is currently in a residential treatment center in another state and I am hoping to start (or find) a support group that would bring other parents with similar situations together for strength, compassion and guidance. I am newly remarried and my husband has no other children, so supporting me and my son as a step parent has also been a challenge for him and our marriage. Often times, the step parent of "father" is ignored when the child takes priority in a mothers life, so supporting our spouses is another component of the support group. |
