I am wife of a funny, hard-working husband and stay-at-home mother of an adorable, hilarious 21-month-old son who may be the smartest little boy-whiz since Jimmy Neutron. Few things in life bring me greater joy than teaching my child all that I can and watching his face light up in wonder at all that he learns each day. I am awed and proud as a mama can be!
When I am not gushing over my home life : ), I am dabbling in photography (of my family, mostly--GUILTY!!!), absorbed in some interesting read, trying to walk more closely with the Lord, and dreaming up some cool trip on which the family can escape for a short while. Oh yeah, and I am hopelessly, shamelessly, bank-account-crushingly addicted to Ebay.
I am hoping to meet other members here who love raising these beautiful babies with which we've been blessed, maintain an optimistic and positive outlook on life, and have a great sense of humor about this whole parenthood experience. |

My son, Quentin, is a flame-haired, impishly-grinning force of nature. He is a type-A little hybrid of his Mama and Daddy: total neat-freak (me) and laid back(hubby). Still, he is blessed with the intelligence that only God can give. He is at once bold and extroverted with an iron will, and gentle as a lamb, all back rubs and smiling whispers into your face. "Hug", he'll declare in his stacatto little elf-voice, then stretch those little arms as far around you as he can reach. And you just gotta melt...: ) Like his Daddy, Quentin loves sports and is proving to be quite a little basketball fanatic and star. His athletic interests aren't limited to the courts, however, as he is quite fond of all things soccer-related and will throw his head back and yell "Hiiiike!" whenever he even so much as GLANCES at a football game (which just about lights up his Daddy's world!). Quentin is a bit of a budding vegetarian with his stoic refusal to eat beef or chicken, but he loves his grilled fish and has never met a fruit or veggie he didn't like. Mind you, my husband and I are both proud meat-eaters but I do insist on a house full of healthy choices, which of course means a substantial variety of the natural stuff. So...cool. Maybe he'll end up the healthiest person in our home! My son is an avid "reader" and enjoys a good book as much as your average grown-up literary nut. So cute, and I'm so glad I handed that one down to the kid!!!! He knows his alphabet and numbers and may surprise me one of these days with a read-aloud but until then, we'll see! Quentin loves the park and outdoors in general, and each time we drive past a playground ( or even MENTION the word "park"), he exclaims: "TUNNEL! TUNNEL!". The boy loves his tunnels. And, of course, our home would not be complete without a healthy dose of Laurie Berkner...but whose is anyway? (I may love her more than the boy does!)
My husband, Troy, is my soul mate and is so considerate of me. So I thank God for him on a regular basis.Troy has many funny observations to share with me every single day and I laugh at most and roll my eyes at precious few. He's a great provider for his family and I respect the good man that he is, and look forward to watching the good man he will guide our son to become. |
