About Me
I am a 44 year old wife and mother of a very rambunctious 23 month old boy. I am still breastfeeding him even though I had planned to only breastfeed for 1 year. It just didn't seem he was ready to quit and since I don't work outside the home I went ahead and continued. He eats regular table food and drinks milk and juice from the sippy cup and then also nurses about 4 times a day. My husband and I recently moved to East Texas and bought a RV resort on a beautiful fishing lake. We changed our lifestyle completely so that we could raise our son away from the hustle and bustle. We have much more freedom and of course are with our son all day now instead of working 50 hour weeks outside the home. It has been a huge adjustment and not so easy, but worth it to be with my son. I am in a local mother's group and it has made all the difference to me as it can be very isolating in such a rural area and of course being a stay at home mom is somewhat isolating too. Since I am with my son all the time I decided to just let him self wean when he is ready, but I am hoping we will wean around 2 years. It is very demanding and time consuming, but well worth it. I do feel I will be able to reconnect with my husband more once I have him weaned as it seems like my son get's first priority on everything. I just like to read the posts as we all have our struggles and it really helps to read about other mom's and offer my insight or ask for other's insight. One of my biggest concerns is how to wean as my son doesn't show any signs of losing interest in it and he does need it to get to sleep, for the most part. He will fall asleep if he is very, very tired and with my husband, but I cannot just put him down and let him sleep without first nursing and rocking him. I know this is just what he is used to and I need to start changing the patterns I guess.

About My Family
My husband and I both love the outdoors, he is a huge outdoorsman. He loves fishing, hunting and anything outdoors. When we met we had so much fun doing all these things. Now that we have our little guy I am at home much more, but we do try to do as much as we can. My little Alex will be 2 August 10 and he is such a joy. He is very, very active and my dad say's he is 2 handfulls. I am definitely exhausted at the end of the day and could not imagine having more than one little one. I do also have a 28 year old daughter. Her name is Shannon. I of course had her when I was quite young. My husband, son and I moved to East Texas a little over a year ago and my daughter stayed in Southwest Florida, where we moved from. It's very hard being away from her, but she is old enough to do her own thing. I do hope that her and my son will develope a close relationship even though they are so far apart in age.
