| I am a SAHM to two beautiful "energetic" little girls. My oldest has some special needs and developmental delays but nothing stops her and outside of her speech you likely wouldn't know. I just moved to Stafford, VA and am looking to meet other moms and families who have special needs children as well as typically developing children that our girls can play with. We are looking to find some great people, either individually or through playgroups, that we and our children can hopefully have as lifelong friends. We love to have fun and all things silly are okay with us! :) I personally LOVE to scrapbook and would love to find a group of moms to spend time doing that with again. If you think we sound like a fun group to spend time with let me know :). |

| I am engaged to a wonderful man, Jim, and we are set to be married this summer. We also just found out that we are expecting #3 in December and are very excited :)...and yes, I kinda hope it is another girl. Jim just retired from the US Army and now works as a contractor for the DOD as part of the Joint Staff. Talk about a busy guy! But don't worry, he always makes time for his girls :).
Annika (said like Ann with an ikuh at the end, not A-knee-kuh) is my 5 year old with special needs. She has Pierre Robin (if you like learning, look it up, good learning there) and was premature. She had a tracheostomy at birth and had it for 4 years. She spent 8 weeks in the NICU and since has had 5 other major surgeries and been under anesthesia 18 times. Now, all that said, she is fantastic. She is strong and amazing. She still has delays but tries her best. She is sweet and sometimes sensitive to a fault. She is a natural nurturer...she wanted to rock her baby sister one time after she had gotten out of surgery just 4 hours before b/c "sissy sad". However, as sweet as she is she has to be one of the loudest children on earth! Once she got her trach out and discovered her voice she uses it to her full ability all the time :).
Alaina is my "vivacious" 2 year old. She is full of energy and curiosity and has a temper to match. She is sweet and kind and says the funniest things...but look out if you are the one who stops her from her latest "mission" She has a HUGE vocabulary and uses it all the time and comes up with the funniest things. Her latest was she thought she would stick her head in between the legs of her little chair and when she got stuck she said "Mommy help! I have a problem here!" A little to smart for her own good really :) |
