I am new this year to homeschooling my children. I am looking for other resources and ideas and on how to effectively teach my children. I would like curriculum ideas. I need a more structured way of teaching and not so much do it myself. I tend to let those go. We enjoy the library and a diverse type of literature for the kids, but with a high moral standard. |

Megan, 7 y.o. Very rigid at times and likes a lot of alone time. Tends to pick up on concepts fast and gets board easily. Likes books about animals. Likes to draw. We have parakeets that she enjoys playing with. Hates school or anything she has to do. I need ideas for her how to make it exciting. She has had trouble with Selective Mutism in the past( could not speak in social situations an school) otherwise very verbal. Is a typical first child.
Emily 6 y.o. Free spirited, does not have a great drive for learning the necessary but loves the unecessary. Having trouble getting reading and fine motor skills are finally beginning to come along. She is actually very smart and sneaky too. I actually think she knows more than she lets on.
Alex 3 y.o. My big boy(actually is slender) Loves sports, all kinds. Already showing an interest in learning. Wants to do school with the girls too. He can copy letters and shapes. He recognizes his name most of the time when written. Has always loved books. I would find him at 9-10 months by himself in a little chair looking at books. He walked early. |
