My Wife and I are parents of boy/girl twins. We recently moved to the Ames area after living in the mountains of Colorado for several years.
I was born and raised in Des Moines and have lived in Colorado and Asia for the past 20 years. My wife is British and has lived in various parts of the world for the past 20 years. We love traveling and most all outdoor activities.
We would like to meet friends with similarly-aged children for friendship and tip-sharing. |

My wife and I started later to have children and had boy/girl twins, Luke and Elizabeth. We had a scheduled C-section at 36 weeks. We spent five weeks living in a wonderful NICU ward in Boulder, Colorado, while the twins caught up in weight. Six months later, Luke was diagnosed with the cardio-pulmonary condition Pulmonary Hypertension. The short version is he couldn't live at altitude. Our home was at in the mountains at 9,000 feet! I quit my job, put the house on the market and started looking for a lower home. We decided that we should go to family- either England or Iowa. Now we are in Ames! Luke is doing very well and will be weaned off all medications by this spring. He is a happy, healthy two-and-a-half year old. He and his sister are best friends and the light of our lives (as well as the occasional source of our darkest hours!) |
