Karyn
Mother of 1 from Chesterfield, MO , 61 years old

Children:   Abigail Reese (girl, 19 years old)

Interests:   I love to read, I spend most of my free time at this point reading. I use to be a big movie buff, but the last few years have changed my habits somewhat. I still enjoy great movies, it's just that I don't often get to go out to the movies and my husband records and watches so many sporting events that there doesn't seem to be much time left (or energy) for movies.

About Me
I am a "mature" mom as my daughter, Abigail, was born when I was 42. It took a long time to get her and I LOVE being a mother. I am lucky enough to be able to stay at home and for this I am thankful. I would like to connect with other moms and kids since most of my friends are working and their children are more of the high school and college age. I would like to have the ability to bounce things off mothers with children the same age or a little older. Sometimes you sort of know what to do, but would like someone who is going through it or has recently gone through it to validate.

About My Family
My only child is Abigail Reese. She is a happy, funny child - I think she will be a bit of a goofball like her mom and dad. She has a sweet temperament unless she is tired or hungry. She started walking around 12-13 months and loves exploring her world. She loves to go for wagon rides through the neighborhood and taking walks. She like other children and often wants to give them big hugs before they know what hit them. She does the same thing to puppies. She is still nursing, but probably will be weaning sometime in the next few months. She doesn't like cows milk which is the hurdle to weaning right now. She never eats as much as I think she should. She likes table food, but sometimes she will eat baby food when she turns up her nose to the table food. She was only in the 20th percentile for weight at her 12 month visit. I wish she would eat more. My husband is Michael. He is silly about being a father. He looks forward to when Abby can say "I love you Daddy". He is enjoying Abby more every day since she seems to be more affectionate with him all the time. He admits that it hurts his feelings when she only wants mommy so often. Quite natural for a nursing child, I think. We have been married almost 3 years. Michael is originally from the south (Mississippi) and we still visit his parents there often.
