| I am the mother of a child that was born with absent limbs. When being told at 5 and half months into the pregnancy I did not know what to do. The Genetics Counselor, my mother and I searched for counseling and support groups to help with coping and to receive some information on what to expect and where to even begin. After my son was born I realized that I wanted to help other mothers to be with expecting a special needs child of any kind.
The CLAE FOUNDATION is built to provide support, counseling and guidance to expecting mothers and families. It also reassures society that a CLAE (children living with absent extrimities) can live an independent life. |

| I am a single mother of four very active boys, ages 13 yrs., 8yrs.,4yrs., and 2yrs.(clae).My boys and I love to have fun skating, bowling, going to movies and other events such as concerts, circus, carnival and the rodeo. My sons are your typical boys. They have been supportive of me from the time I explained that I was going to have a uniquely made child up until now. The support their brother in everything he does and loves him to death. |
