INGREDIENTS
For the cake:
-2 rum baba mold of different sizes
-1,3 lb of dark chocolate
-14 oz of powdered sugar
-12 eggs
-13 oz butter
-5 oz flour
-1 bag of walnuts
-1 bag of pine nuts
For the icing and decoration:
-7 oz of dark chocolate
-4 tablespoons water
-5 oz of icing sugar
-1 packet of Smarties
INSTRUCTIONS
For 14 people:
Preparation: 30 minutes
Cooking time: 45 minutes
Rest: 15 min
Total time: 90 minutes
1. Melt the butter and chocolate in saucepan over low heat.
2. Mix the egg yolks with the sugar until the mixture whitens.
3. Add the flour and the melted butter-chocolate mixture and finally, walnuts and pine nuts.
4. Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt.
5. Add the stiffly beaten egg whites to the above mixture gently lifting the preparation.
6. Finally, butter molds and bake in the oven at 350 F° for 45 min.
7. Dip a knife into the cake. If it appears dry, it is cooked.
8. Invert cakes on to a large tray, next to one another and cut a piece of each cake to form the number 3.
9. Prepare the icing by melting the chocolate, sugar and water over low heat until the mixture is smooth.
10. Spread all over cake and decorate with smarties.
Finally ... It can also make a cake in the form 8: it's even easier because there is no need to cut the cake.
