Buttermilk Mac N Cheese by Tara Abel
Southern casserole style Mac n Cheese.
This is a deliciously different macaroni and cheese .
I made it for my son's birthday party and it received rave reviews!

Main Ingredients: Cheese, Pasta & Noodles |
INGREDIENTS
6 eggs
3 1/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese (I personally use the fiesta blend)
2 1/2 cups buttermilk (I use nonfat)
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon salt
1 package (7 ounces) elbow macaroni, cooked and drained (I use alittle more than 7 ounces)
INSTRUCTIONS
Yeild: 8-10 servings
Prep: 10 min.
Bake: 45 min.
1. In a large bowl, beat the eggs.
2. Stir in the cheese, buttermilk, butter and salt.
3. Add the macaroni and stir well.
4. Pour into greased 13X9X2 baking dish,
5. Bake, uncovered, at 350°F for 45-50 minutes until a thermometer reads 160°F .
6. I sprinkle extra cheese on top, during the last few minutes of baking.
