Preschool Routine
Could anyone recommend a good preschool/ homeschool routine? Just having trouble getting organized.

Routine? We are supposed to have a routine? We do a different theme each week. I have all the materials gathered (books, worksheets, craft items, whatever) by Monday morning (more or less) and then it is at will throughout the week. My son will ask to do worksheets when he feels like it, or ask to be read to, or to make things. Whatever gets done, gets done. Whatever doesn't, doesn't. No big thing either way. At this level in particular, I think the most important thing is to keep it fun, so that is why we do no pressure. Whatever we do get done, I record in a teacher planning book to refer back to in the future.

I used to be a preschool teacher. Now I am homeschooling my 6 yr. old with a 2 yr. old at home. I purchased a calendar that included the days of the week, weather and months of the year. I have it hanging on the wall. The children seem to like it. I also have a flag for the Flag Salute and provide flannel stories, songs and art throughout the week. I keep it simple for my 2 yr. old because kids just really like to play at that age. I find introducing these things in the morning help my 2 yr. old. She knows when it's time for school and she stays in the room with me and my 6 yr. old when I am schooling her. I just provide things for her to do with us. There are lots of preschool based websites that might help with some worksheets and activities to do depending on the age of your preschooler and interests. I hope some of this helps.
