What should you be sure to bring with you in your diaper bag? Some new moms are tempted to bring the entire nursery, especially if they are going to be gone for an extended period. But that really isn’t necessary. Below you will find a comprehensive list of things you might want to stuff in your new diaper bag.
__ 5-10 baby diapers (depending upon the length of your outing) __ Baby wipes __ Diaper rash cream __ Baby powder (travel size) __ Baby lotion (travel size) __ Tissues (travel size) __ Plastic bags (for disposing of soiled diapers or clothes) __ Bibs (usually 1 or 2 at the most) __ Burp cloths (usually 1 or 2 at the most) __ Baby Formula, food, juice and other snacks (not just for baby but for yourself as well especially when breast feeding) __ Extra breast pads (if breastfeeding) __ Extra Bottles (usually 1 or 2 at the most; remember bottles can easily be rinsed out and reused or if you have one of those types that have the inserts just drop in a new insert) __ Breast pump (When getting a breast pump try to find a good one that takes batteries as well can be used in a regular outlet if getting an electric one. Otherwise you won't have to worry when it comes to manual breast pumps) __ First Aid Kit (You can usually find ready made First Aid Kits at most baby stores/grocery stores like Wal-mart, Target, etc.) __ Pacifier (usually 1 or 2 at the most, personally I bring two just in case baby looses one) __ Any medications your baby needs __ Baby Carrier or Sling __ Grocery Cart protecter ( if going to grocery store ONLY) __ Baby toys (favorites for baby are a must) __ Extra outfit for baby __ Extra shirt for yourself (just in case!) __ Extra under garments and pants (especially right after birth, remember your body is still in baby carrying mode and eveytime you cough... UH OH!) __ Hat for baby
