For stripping diapers i use a small amount of dawn in the first cycle then wash until the water is clean preferably hot water. 

Finally figured it out...thanks It took me forever but I finally figured out how to do it right. I do use dawn myself now and it works good but I found out that if I wash them in hot water and rinse them in hot water they come out perfect. I just have to add boiling water to the rinse because of how my washing machine works..thanks :)
