Know anything about? Family Insurance? Similar situations? Could use some advice! Thanks!
So I've been playing the WAHD (Work At Home Dad) role for a little over a year now. I work in Finance and Real Estate sales from my home office part time. My wife and I found this to be the best arrangement for the time being seeing that her career provided more income stability as well as better health insurance options. I have to say that I love spending quality time with my little girl who is now 20 months and am grateful that I can be here for her. And though my work production has nearly faded into non-existence, I never take forgranted the memories/milestones I am able to share, create, and witness with my little girl - after all - I am a Dad over everything else, so thats my first responsibility. With that said, every family has its own unique way of evolving with each passing moment and circumstances that they face. The other day, the thought of me going back to work full time had been brought to the table and it seems a feasible idea. Probable in the sense that my wife would then become the SAHM, while I return back to work keeping in mind that we may have to live off of reserves for a few months til I re-establish my pipeline/production. It can be a little scary being self-employed in that paychecks don't come on a regular schedule - if they come at all! The idea is that my wife has worked really hard and could use this time to really enjoy our daughter as I have, and possibly take care of some unfinished business - going back to school online or whatever she wants to do. She deserves this, my daughter would love it, and I am ready to get back to the "real world". There is reluctancy on my part, and so I should be - I am definitely spooked about the economy and the market I'm in. I'm trying to remain positive knowing the person that I am and what I have accomplished in the past - but its still very scary knowing that the terrain is a lot different now and success doesn't come as easily in this new arena. Does anyone have a similar situation they are in? Any advice on shopping for family insurance that is inexpensive but covers everything? |

| I can relate to this issue. I am a working mother, and I am the one with the stable work environment. My husband would love for me to be a SAHM, and I would like it not i would LOVE it, but just like you I am very afraid that with the economy the way it is we could have though finances. I am praying really hard for illumination (lol) before we make a decision. |
