The Day
So tomorrow we have a new President... Why is it that it is the most costly of all inaugurations? Aren't we trying to not over spend? Even the Super Bowl commercials are dramatically down in price. But yet the person that is concerned with our economy is not showing it, or all of the supporters. We are in the middle of a crisis and everyone was all upset because unemployment is up and the economy is suffering. But are the "supporters" turning a blind eye? "Oh it's ok because he will see us through"
Yeah through another depression.

Or is it because spending is exactly what is needed to stimulate the economy? The more money that is spent, the more money is flowing into the economy. The only thing the government pays for is the security (which is providing work for who knows how many people) and the rest of the inaugural festivities are paid for by private donations, which again is fantastic for the economy to see that influx of money, so why are so many conservatives getting their panties in a bunch about the spending? Spending is GOOD in rough economic times!

Well of course the security is paid for, but it is not providing jobs. The security is officers and such that already had jobs. So it is not like people that are unemployed were given a chance to make money.

That's why I said work and not jobs. Still, work = paycheck. Paycheck = spendable income. Spendable income = more money going into the economy....which is a GOOD thing for those that may be confused on how the economy works.

Again, why the bunching panties?

Indigo, it's just because people are grasping for something negative to say about our wonderful new president. It's quite silly really. There will be more to laugh about soon I'm sure. Let's just sit back and let President Obama (oh happy day!!!!) prove these folks wrong.

I realize that, Lauren, but that is part of why I feel the need to respond, educate, and enlighten. It is too good of a day to have marred by such silliness. :-)

Silliness? I can tell you what I think is silly; the circus that they made out of the inaguration. I am more conservative, and consider myself a Republican, but I don't have anything against Obama. I really hope he does all he says.
