not sleeping though night
Anyone have any tips for your kids getting up and going in your bed at night?

My three-year-old son gets up at night to go use the bathroom. After he finishes, he wants to get into my bed, but I do not let him because I want him to sleep in his bed. Sometimes, I do let him get into my bed but only when he wakes up for the day. The only reason why is because I do not want him to get up his brother. LOL! My son used to be at my bed more but each time that you keep to the routine it should work. I hope that it works out for you and good luck!!!

sorry, my son sleeps with me.. he is my last child and if he wants to sleep with me that is fine by me.. my daughter slept me until she was about 5 yrs old.. Now she wants to sleep in her own room.. My sisters both did the same thing with their kids and everything turned out great.. I love him sleeping with me and cuddleing with me.. They don't stay little long so cherish the time that they are.. My sister is going through the big teenager thing with my niece and I am not looking forward to that!!!!!

Suzanne, my son sleeps with us too. He is 20 months old. So many people look down on this but we don't see anything wrong with it.

The decision of whether to have your children join you in bed or sleep in their own bed is a personal choice. I believe that the longer the parent chooses to co-sleep the harder the transition is to get the child to sleep in their bed. If co-sleeping with your child meets the safety guidelines and both parents agree to have their child sleep in their bed, than by all means go for it! One of the reasons that I do have my two kids sleep in their beds is because if one knows that the other is in my bed than the other wants to join in. I am sorry, but my bed is not that big. My oldest used to ask me, "Why does Elijah get to sleep with you?" I answered him, "Well, hunny he is very little and he nurses a lot, but when he is older he will sleep in his own bed." (NURSING EVERY HOUR AT THE HOUR AT THAT TIME) I have read advantages and disadvantages about this topic, but again it all comes down to the parents' choice!
