What's God doing?
Hi Everyone! I just wanted to get your input on something that's come up and is quickly building momentum and I'm not sure what to do with it. I started a playgroup through the momslikeme website for people in my area. I did this because I couldn't find any and I wanted to meet other moms and have my kiddos around other kids. Okay, so I started this group and we're meeting for the first time at a mall play area. Great, right?! Well, I have well over 35 moms interested and I'm just not sure what the common thread is going to be to keep everyone coming. I'm thinking this is a BIG opportunity for God to use me to speak into other moms who may not know God. So, the question is, what can I do to make these women feel connected and having fun with this group so doors stay open for conversation of faith? I guess maybe the answer is God always provides those right moments, but now that I have all these mommies commiting, I want to show them how great being in community with one another is. I'd eventually love to recommend to meet me at church if they wanted too. Thoughts? Prayers are appreciated!

You know, in my local group that I started on the cafemom site, I never push any talk unless something comes up to allow me to bring God into a conversation where the other mom is going to listen. However, having said that, I always talk about my own life and how God helps me get thru things. I have a very unhappy marriage and I talk bout support fro God and my church family. I mean the help is limited but it is still something I would not have if I were not a Christian you know?
I think the best witness is always our actions. If you are a giving person, kind and compassionate like Jesus wants us to be, to imitate Him, then that shows in action, your faith.
I also invite moms to visit the church, once in a while if there is an event I post it in the group and put up the website link etc. There is nothing wrong in telling them once in a while that they are always welcome to visit your church.
Send me a message if you want to talk more. Or if you use yahoo chat as I am on there during the day..ttyl and God bless.

Suggestion maybe ? Maybe you could post a "Who would like to know more about God, or The Bible", or some thing like that. That way you don't pressure anyone, but maybe you can spark interest. Make a weekly chat for anyone that would want to come. I felt the same way you did, so what I did was start a Bible Study and I post a new message every day from my church. I know God will send the seeking to my group. I have the same group on 5 sites, and I post every day (6 days a week). Maybe you can start another group and invite everyone you can.
God Bless,
Shauna

I think the settle way is the best way... if you have been transformed by God and you are around other women they'll notice something is different about you and they'll want it... and when that moment comes then you tell them about Christ. WE ARE THE Church so inviting them to yours isn't neccessary at first, give it time... and God will use you His way, just be patient, have fun with them, be light and salty! ;)
