My son will be 13 months soon, and I feel the same way. His reactions to everything, be they positive or negative, are very strong. You always know what he thinks - there seems to be no middle ground. He is persistant and very perceptive, noticing every little sound, or speck of dirt on the ground. He is also high energy, though not all spirited kids are. I am lucky in that he is not super sensitive, and dressing and feeding him have not been too difficult, though getting used to texture of different foods is challenging (we are still working on it), and he can't sleep in polyester sleepers (but I don't blame him for that).

If you think your little one is spirited, trust your gut. Have you read Kurcinka's book, "Raising your spirited child"? She was the one who coined the term 'spirited' in the first place, and has excellent descriptions and tools in her book.

My son is not as spirited as they come, but he is still a handful. ;-)
