Hi all. I am new to this and was just wondering how I might safely go about meeting other moms with toddlers for potential play dayes. I have a 2 1/2 year old who is very bright and fun, but has had very little social interaction. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tracey |

We had luck finding playgroups at meetup.com. You can look for groups in your local area. Good luck! |

I agree with Kim - Meetup.com is a great place to find local playgroups. |

The way I got a group togeather was by searching for parents on this web site by my zip code and then e-mailing them using their RaisingThem mail. It worked out great because you could see their profile on here and see if their children were appropriate age wise. |

I haven't used meetup yet but heard great things. I would look for a MOPs (Mothers of Preschoolers) in your area. Usually they are at churches. You can also look under groups on craigs list for your area. |

Tracey, it it helps.... A lot of the groups on meetup.com are marked private, so not just anybody can see their message board, calendars etc, you have to be accepted by the organizer of the group to join. Which is reassurring if you have privacy/internet fears. |

I found a mother's club in my area, by a web search, which has been a great resource for more than just playgroups. |
