My son is 4 months old and he blows out of his diaper on a daily basis. The pediatrician says there's nothing wrong. Does anybody else have this problem? If so, do you have any solutions? |

My 2 month old daughter does the same thing. She goes through a couple outfits a day and it drives me CRAZY! She's a gassy little girl and when she farts, she poops, and when she poops, she explodes, quite literally. I haven't really found a solution, either. I guess plastic pants could work or something of the sort. My husband says that when she starts to poop, he lays her on her tummy either on the ground or on his legs (which are propped up at an angle), and that way not all the poop stays at the butt, but can move more easily to the front. It works for him, I guess. |

Well, I guess we're not the only ones doing constant wardrobe changes. I've been lucky that they've only happened at home. The plastic pants are a good idea, do you know where I can find any? I may also try a different diaper and see if it fits differently. I've tried huggies but they leak, I got fed up changing crib sheets every night. I use pampers now and they don't leak but he blows out of them. I'm not sure a different diaper will help with the blow outs but its worth a try. Have you tried luvs? Its great your husband changes diapers. My sons Daddy does some but dosen't know how to handle the blowouts. He has a pretty weak stomach I guess. |

I have NO IDEA where to get plastic pants. I just remember my mom talking about them when she used cloth diapers. The brand of diapers you choose is important, too. We started off with Whitecloud (that's just what we were given) and we didn't like them AT ALL. My sister-in-law uses those and they work just fine for her kids. We tried Pampers and weren't too fond of them, but we really like Huggies. I guess it just depends on your baby. We had some samples of Luvs given to us and they're probably the crappiest ones that we've tried so far. But what works for one might not work for another, so you'd just have to try them and see.
My hubby practically trips over himself to change our daughter's diapers. He loves spending time with her when he gets home from work since I'm the one who gets to stay home with her. He's made it his job to burp her, change her, and lay her back down when she wakes up at 3 or 4 in the morning. I count myself very lucky to have a husband like him! |

My daughter used to blow out of her diapers. She's 7 1/2 monthes old now. I found that alot of the time when she was blowing out it was because we didn't realize she needed to move up to the next size. It also helped a little when we started her on solids & her stools became thicker. Don't know if either of these will be the case for you, but I hope it helps. |
