first cold
Hi everyone, it's cold season and my 6 year old brought home a whopper for the family. My baby Luke has his first cold & it is soo pathetic. His nose is so runny & he freaks when I come near him with the tissue. He's got a little cough, poor guy. My pediatrician said theres nothing you can do either, but saline drops & suctioning (which i will never do after my first son hated it so much) and a humidifier. Anyone have any home remedies that help alleviate cold symptoms besides the suction & humidifier? I could use some help, or Luke could I should say. Thanks guys.

Sorry can't really think of anything else. Martin was first sick at three and a half months. I just used the suction and watched for a fever. If he has a fever I hear that you need to break it immediately take a bath with him and if that doesn't work try infant Tylenol. If he still has a fever after all that then it is time to go to the hospital.

You can prop the head of his bed up by putting a baby blanket under the mattress. Just a little prop helps his nose to clear out. It may not seem like much but I have had to use it a couple times. If all else fails and breathing through that cold is an issue. Have him sleep in his car seat, get a blow up mattress and sleep next to him to avoid him slipping out.
