My son naps really well at home, sometimes two to two and a half hours. But in the daycare center, I am lucky if he sleeps for half an hour to forty five minutes. I work with him and I think that the problem is the noise level, light, and level of activity. He is just a really active boy and wants to be in the thick of things at all times. He is also a really light sleeper. I have tried rocking him in a bouncy chair, holding him and rocking him to sleep, letting him "cry it out", and even letting him sleep in the swing. Half of the time he wakes up the second I put him down. Any suggestions?? Thank you! |

Sounds like your son is very much like my daughter, they don't want to miss anything! My daughter will go entire days without naps no matter how tired she is, if she is not at home. The activity and stimulation are too exciting for her. I wouldn't know what to suggest unless there is any way at daycare to get him to a quieter darker area to settle him. |

I would see if his crib can be moved to a quieter, darker place. Also, maybe having you there, seeing you in the room but with other babies and hearing your voice is hard for him. Is there any way you could work in a different room for a few days to see if that helps? I know that is probably hard, because being with him all day probably makes it easier to be at work. But give it a try if you can and if there is no improvement, go back and try something else.
How long has he been in daycare? Maybe he just needs more time to adjust. |
