Every day I say "Today is the DAY"...But Really...
Today is the day...I have my YOU on a DIET book and I am going to really start...My weight today is 167 lbs, I am 5' 9" and wearing a size 12 (loosely and a size 10 (tightly)...I would like to be a size 6 but think an eight is more reasonable...The YOU on a diet book stresses that it's not weight as much as your clothes size or circumfrence of your waist...I haven't measured that yet...Just need to stay AWAY from the pasta, bread and sweets...

I will check in daily so that I feel I have some accountability to someone...Yep, trick myself, that should work...I would like to reach my goal by August 1st...I will work really hard to exercise everyday...

All your advice will be greatly appreciated, if you see me making excuses please call me out!

Today I hiked for an 1 1/2 hours with another mom and her kids...they are the same age as mine...we didn't work up a sweat, mostly tried to keep our two year olds from killing someone with their walking sticks, but the fresh air was great and we did get some exercise...

I am kind of excited!

Good for you, Tara! I remember how excited I was when I started and realized it was actually going to happen! I think the adreneline rush burned off about half a pound right then!

You have some realistic goals, some professional advice, and the willingness. I think you're going to do it!

Good for you Tara. It sounds like you have a great plan. Hiking for 1.5 hours is a great start plus I'm sure you work up a sweat running after your little one. We'll make sure to keep you in check. Take care and have fun...

Thanks! I will use this like a journal.

Tara that is a great idea to check in daily. I too believe that it is a way to keep you going. So that you have somebody to share in what you do and that way it is sort of a log, but public so you can get insight and motivation. Good job on the hike. You don't have to sweat to lose the weight remember ever task we do in our lives burns calories. I run 2 miles and I barely sweat doing that, at least not on my treadmill. Well goo dluck and we are here for you. I can't wait to hear about your progress.

You run 2 miles? OMG! I wish I could do that but get dizzy thinking about it!! LOL

You run 2 miles???? I'm with Tara- wish I could! Trying to work up to that. Right now it is walk for about 3 minutes and run for about 2-3 minutes on the treadmill. Wish I could not sweat running like you- I sweat buckets! Must be the climate I live in here in Texas. I am sweating majorly this week- doing Girl Scout camp outside. It is about 95 degrees plus in the shade. Maybe I'm sweating off some pounds going canoeing, etc.!!!

Well thank you. I should be able to run 3 miles without a problem, but I hadn't been running for at least 9 months before I was released from the military. I wish I could sweat because sweating is what you need to do to burn water weight. I thought about wearing one of those sauna suits, but I really don't enjoy sweating, Jennifer you should be able to lose weight doing girl scout stuff. If I remember correctly when I was a little girl we use to do lots of things outdoors and it was lot of fun, but tiring too. Does the troop your with go camping over the summer? I can't wait to do that with my daughter. Keep it up ladies. We will be Americas biggest losers soon. =)

That's so funny you should be camping with the Girl Scouts this week. My daughter is coming home Girl Scouts Dance Divas camp today, Friday. She's been gone since Sunday evening and I've missed her!

We did get to repaint and rearrange her room while she was gone. She'll be so surprised!

Painting, arranging furniture, and throwing out old toys burns of a few calories too!
