Does your toddler like to read? If so what are their favorites?

My son Loves Llama Llama Red Pajama, and he really likes to read his book about going to the potty. Now, if I could only get him to actually use his potty :-)

actually my son isn't too into them.. every once in a while he will want me to read to him.. He can't still that long! My daughter was totally different she loved me to read and I read to her all the time (she is 8yrs old and very smart).. My son is some what speech delayed and I know that has a lot to do with it.. But, I can't force him to sit down and let me to read to him..

My son loves books! I'm so glad. One of his favorites is Goodnight Moon. He usually goes through at least 5 or 6 several times a day.

Megan has liked books since about 6 months old, and now at 20 months, she LOVES them.

She is currently obsessed with Goodnight Moon and a homemade book that Grandma made her about getting a new baby sister.

She is really getting into books with rhymes now too (i.e. nursery rhyme type things).

We are really lucky to have a number of great libraries around us that put out lists of age appropriate books. Daniel loves them and thanks to dad getting involved in reading time I believe Daniel has a greater love for the books. Most nights we (dad, mom and Daniel) are together for playtime.

We've also introduces a dvd program into Daniel's daily routine. The dvd focuses on vocabulary, songs and poetry. Daniel has blossomed with this and actually asks us to put the dvd on during the day. It's called Your Baby Can Read...good stuff.

Books have been a huge part of Anthony's routine for as long as he's been alive...he's 2 years old now and we read together a lot. He asks for a book during mealtime, and before bed as well....I'm so glad he loves books!
Our favorites are "Busy Busy Town", and a lift-the-flap book called "Who Said Mooooo"....fun!

Sounds like I definitely need to get a copy of Goodnight Moon.

Living in Tennessee, we have a fabulous social program called the Imagination Library - it is funded mostly by Dolly Parton. The organization sends your child 1 book a month for FREE from age 0-5.

I am not sure if it is in other states also... But if you live in Tennessee and are not familiar with this awesome program, here is the link:
