Hi, I'm glad to have an online AP group, but I would love to find some people near by to hang out with. I feel like no one in Northern NJ is using AP, or just not talking about it.
I just moved to NJ from WA 3 weeks ago, and WA had a lot of people that used AP...here I feel like I'm from a different planet. If you live in the area or know of any groups please let me know.

Hi Alena. I live near Delaware Water Gap, PA on the NJ border. I agree with you. My brothers live in OR and WA and I just love the mentality out there. It's not like that here. My husband's family lives in Blairstown. They have a holistic mom's group here in the Poconos. I just went to my first event on Saturday and am going to a Green Living event on Tuesday at the Stroudsburg Library. The first 100 guests will receive environmental tote bags with samples and products from the vendors who will be at the event. Saturday's event was a speaker on the Hidden Truths of Vaccines.

Oh okay, that's a little far from here. Before I had my daughter I worked in Madison which is quite close to South Orange. My husband works in Livingston which is close as well. I'm sure in that area you should be able to find some AP groups as the population is much greater. Did you try meetup.com?
It's so rural here I've had a lot of trouble finding an AP group and am still looking.
Since you are Christian, maybe finding a good local church could help too? Again, you are at an advantage b/c you are in a more densely populated area. I would think you could find some other AP mothers there...although it may be difficult as compared to WA b/c the pace in that part of NJ is unfortunately quite rapid and hectic. |

You are right about the rapid pase of life...I moved out CA for that reason.
I'm still trying to find a church and meetup.com so far hasn't been successful. I'll keep trying though.
The area is dense, but the people tend to be freaked out by AP, at least the ones that I have run into.

| Yes, I think a lot of people in the fast-paced area there tend to keep big careers and send their kids off to childcare rather than practice AP--it's all about keeping up with the Joneses. But I'd like to think there must be pockets of those practicing AP & natural parenting. I know a lot of people where I worked disapprove of me not returning to work in favor of staying home with my daughter. If I hear of any groups or good churches in your area as I continue to search for the like here, I'll let you know! |

Like I've mentioned I just moved here 3 weeks ago, so I haven't had the opportunity to "really" look. I'm sure there are a few people..at least I really hope so.Thank you for keeping an eye out for me.
