Lately my 22 month old only wants to drink orange juice. I know he is supposed to drink milk but he's not showing much interest in it lately. I bought the OJ with Calcium, but I'm not sure about it. Should I force the issue? |

My son will be 3 in Feb and when he was under two he LOVED milk then around his 2nd b-day he started to rebell. It is hard to see them not liking milk but I have found other ways to make sure he has the calcium he needs (milk in his favorite cereal served in those bowls that have the straw attached), lots of cheese, his vitamins and the like. My concern with the juice or other drinks is the sugar on his teeth but he loves to brush his teeth so we have not had that much of an issue. |

I think that as a long as you buy OJ with calcium it should be okay. You could also try giving him other foods that are high in calcium as the previous poster suggested.
My 15-month-old son is allergic to milk and eggs. I tried to give him soymilk and he does not like it at all. Therefore, my pediatrician suggested that I buy OJ with calcium. She also recommended that I also try to give him yogurt. |

My son loves milk, but he is a terrible eater. He eats a few fruits and veges, but I always worry that he is not getting enough vitamins etc. I give him V8 Fusion juice instead of appe or orange juice, which has fruit AND vegetables in it. If your son just won't drink milk, give him calcium in other ways, yoghurt, cheese, etc |

My daughter will not drink milk either. Not even chocolate or strawberry. Never has liked cow's milk. She eats yogurt at least 2x a day, and also cheese, cottage cheese, cereal with milk are some things we rotate into her daily diet. She's very healthy and her ped was not concerned when I mentioned her alternate sources of calcium. |

I am lucky because my son is not picky. He will drink anything. Have you tried vanilla soy milk? |

My son also loves the V8 Fussion, and I have to say that since I am not a milk drinker also, I enjoy the V8 as well. My son also eats alot of cottage cheese, yogurt and other milk based products. Bonnie if you are truely concerned that he is not getting enough talk to your pedi but as you can see if you supplement he should be fine. |

Thanks for all your suggestions. I'll try the V8 Fusion and a few of your other ideas! |
