Do you like crocheting or knitting?

I just found out I am expecting and I would really like to knit my baby her/his hospital blankie. Like I said, I know how to do the stitches, but that's it. anyone have a simple pattern they could explain to me here?

The simplest thing is to just do a blanket with only double crochets. Make it as wide as you like and keep crocheting until you get the length you want. I did this for my nephew with some multicolor yarn. It turned out pretty good. I did single crochet around as a border. It is really easy. I also did one big granny square for my little girl in multicolor. That may not be a bad idea for you. http://blog.jannascorner.net/2008/05/abigails-first-blankie.htm
