Advice?
Hi Everyone! My name is Ivy, and I am a work at home mom. I recently started my own business so that I could stay home with my boys since day care is SO expensive, but I am having trouble getting work done during the day. I work parttime at night, and when I get home I am exhausted. I just don't know how to organize my day and to balance between work and my boys. I have a 2 yr old and a 1 yr old. They are constantly wanting my complete attention. If I don't give it they scream. Any advice or help would be great. Thanks so much!

Ivy

It's hard to give specific advice without knowing what type of business that you have but, I do a lot of my work when my daughter is napping. I also make calls while she's eating or I hold her on my lap and let her play with something. I know it's hard though. My daughter is 16 m/o and runs all over the place while I try to get things done. I don't think there's an easy solution for any of us!! :)

I don't really have any specific advice for you ... just wanted to say I know how you feel ... if I don't have a 4 year old yapping my ear off while I'm trying to send an email or be on the phone, I've got an 8 month old crying! Nap time doesn't really work for me either b/c my older daughter doesn't nap & my 8 month old won't sleep unless I'm holding her! They're both spoiled rotten! lol

Hi Ivy,
My children are a little bit older than yours 3,4,5, and 10. But I do know how you feel about trying to balance everything. I also work part time outside the home, while trying to get a home based business up and running. If you figure it our can you let me in on the secret! (smile)

I have told my girls to expect that I need to work a few hours a day so I can stay home with them. It *usually* works...but can still be a challenge.
