Another Newbie to the group and the city

Hello all! My name is Marie and my husband, daughter and I just moved to the Iowa side of the Quad Cities. I also just found this site. I'm looking for other Moms from the area that can share advice and insight. My husband and I are 24 and 25 and just left Active Duty in the Navy so that we could move near his family and raise our daughter (16 months) around her Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. I'm making the difficult adjustment of working 40-50 hours a week in the Navy to being a SAHM. As rewarding as it is and as easy as I thought it would be, it is actually a very difficult and different transition. My only job is caring for my husband and daughter and showing up to Drill Weekend once a month. So needless to say, I'm feeling a little isolated in an all new place (which by the way it is ridiculously cold here! I'm a Texas girl). I hope to meet lots of great people here! Marie
