i am a sahm of a 2yr old girl and a 10yr old girl. writing has always been something i love. i began writing as a child. my goal is to actually finish a novel and have it published. sometimes i get so busy i get writer's block. i am hoping that once i get my home organized as i want it then i will have time to write after my 2yr old is in bed for the night.
if anyone has any suggestions or connections, please send them my way.
thanks!

I know what you mean. I have not been able to really write in a while. I did set up a blog for just writing where I will just go with what flows and see what happens. It can get my thoughts going. I too have the desire to write a novel and get published. I have been working on mine since I was a teenager. Maybe one day. The biggest thing is to just write anyway. Even if you can only take five minutes it is good to do. It may just get those creative juices flowing. I hope this will help some. |

Welcome, Erin! I am a SAHM for three kids myself. I get all my writing done when they're asleep or in school. Back when mine were rugrats, I got little done, but one thing I did then was keep a notebook by my bed so I could write down ideas as they occurred--my only "me" time was either half-asleep or in the bathroom! Good luck to you! Keep trying. Sometimes the young years are when we ruminate over ideas until they ripen. Use it to your advantage Kathleen Maher |

Hi Erin - Welcome to the group. When my children were younger the only writing I did was journalling at home and newsletters at work. I used to enjoy writing business correspondence because it was the only writing I got to do. Now that my kids are older (the youngest is 12) and I can get the kids to leave me alone to do some writing I find myself superbusy with homeschooling and caring for some sick relatives. It seems like there is always something in the way!
Keep working toward that goal of getting a novel published. I'll bet with a little persistence you'll do just that! |

It's possible to do it and keep your sanity. I try getting up early in the morning when the house is quiet, drink some tea and write. It's not always easy but when I do it I feel better. I also carry a notebook around with me and write down any ideas that hit me. I belong to the yahoo group momwriters which is a great resource for parents trying to write with little ones. I hope this helps. |
