Where could you find singles groups for single parents?

As I replied to a post, I expected my words to flow more eloquently than they did. Wow, I was wrong! I realized that there are no singles groups for single parents. Does anyone have a story or suggestion relating to that type of group? There is a different criteria for being a single parent. First, if the kid is still alive(mine is!!!), then you are porbably the strongest person on your block! I thought about what it would take to make a singles parents meeting or group. It would basically be for large scale playdates and have a few more rules than a normal group, but the dynamic could be done!!! You could have a great time with like minded parents and if something more progressed after the kids go to sleep, GREAT! I'm looking for thoughts and ideas.

Start a group yourself would probably be the best bet! There are plenty of sites for things like this (including this one). Start a group and see what happens. Good luck- it would be nice to have this in my area. I find too often that I have much more in common with married parents on our parenting views but would love to have a support system of other single parents.
