I don't know how good of an idea it was for me to joint this group. I can be a very opinionated person, and I feel very strongly about politics. LOL, So we will see how it goes.

Hi Kim - 1st off, Keanu Reeves is HOT! :)
Secondly, welcome to the group...as long as you are a sensible democrat who loves Obama, I won't give you too much trouble, hehe. Seriously though, it's a fun place to debate politics. :)

Well sorry to say to some, but I am republican. My personal thoughts of Obama is he actually scares me. I do, however, think that it is a great thing to have a person of color in the white house. I think our country took huge steps that day, in that aspect.

I had always said that I would vote for the first woman that ran for president, but to my dismay, it had to be Hillary. Ha ha. I really really liked Palin, and I actually hope that further along in her future that she does run for president. Then I could finally vote for the first woman.

I am opinionated and have my own way of viewing the world. Several other members have complained to the group moderated to have my posts removed.

I always said I support Obama from the very beginning. I was not afraid to be the only person outspoken about my viewpoints as well as how I felt about the Republican Party.

I am elated that Obama is our New President, and Biden our VP; Hilary-Secretary of State. We need to get our country in good standing, generate jobs, and rebuild our economy.

Outspoken Democrat, thats me!

As far as getting our country into shape, one thing a lot of people do not seem to realize when they start bad talking a president is that the president is not really the person running the country. For your information the democratic party has been running the country since Bush has been elected. They have held the majority of the seats in the house. So if you have not been happy with the way the country has been ran, look at the source. The president cannot really do anything with out the house backing him. This is one reason why when I vote I vote a straight ticket. It does not matter who the president is compaired to who is running the house.

I agree with you Kim. The president is not the only one running the show, and he has very little power without the congress backing him up.

I love this President for his vision and his willingness to work hard for this country. I did not see that kind of commitment in a long time.
The President does not decide everything but he sets the tone...and he has demonstrated that he wants to get Americans out of the crisis.

I can not even imagine to think how depressing it would be if McCain would be president!

Even though I voted for McCain, I do believe that now that we have a president-elect we should stand behind him. The majority have spoken so we need to respect that. I don't like all the negative comments that have been made about our current president over these last 8 years. I believe our duty as a nation is to support and stand behind our president, even if we may not agree with his policies. I hope the next 8 years will be more positive with no negative, hateful comments.

In regards to hateful comments, what was Palin doing the majority of the time? McCain wasn't much better. In the end, they both ate crow.

I agree with you Esther. I think everyone has been making hateful comments, although I haven't heard any from Obama. I cannot stand negativity, and do not wish to hear it from either side. I may not have voted for Obama, but I do have to say he ran the most positive ads with no negativity - only what he could do for the country. I hope the positive attitude continues.
