Heading butting 15 month old
My son is 15 mo old and when he gets into trouble or is told no about something he head butts either me or the furniture. It does not hurt him but it sure hurts me when he gets me in the noes!
Any advice? Is this normal for boys?

My son does this. He is 17 months and started when he was 16 months. He seems to do this to me and just laughs about it. When he gets me in the face hard, I tell him no and explain that it hurts. If he does it again, I get up and walk away. Hope this helps. Im sure it's a boything and they will grow out of it.

No, not a boy thing! my 15 month old daughter does it too!! the few websites and books say you have to tell them no..strongly and then if they do it again...ignore them.. (unless you are holding them, then put them down and tell them no!) it hasn't worked for me yet!LOL!

i called our doctor in fear with this behavior and they said not to worry but to protect my head, a child's head butt can knock an adult, while not hurting the child.

My son is 2 1/2 yrs old and has done this since he was about 16mos old. though, he grandfather taught him how to do it so, when he would do it to grandpa and it hurts grandpa we all just laugh since he was the one who taught it to him.
