My little girl is teething & therefore is drooling alot. The skin under her lower lip is chapped & flaking. Does anyone have a remedy? Is it okay to just use chapstick?

I know it is greasy, but apply Aquaphor on the chapped area. It will form a barrier that will keep the skin from being irritated any further. You could even try Vaseline, but I definitely prefer Aquaphor. |

First off when bathing her do not use any kind of soap or anything other than a wet cloth to clean her face. I would also don't use wipes on the face. The vaseline will help, I have never heard of the stuff in the other post, but when my son had this issue, the only thing I did was vaseline, always keeping him dry there, and Oil of Olay Quench lotion. Every time I changed his diaper I put the lotion on, and it helped a lot. We had a huge issue with eczema also and the lotion cleared it up. Another good lotion is Eucerine cream, not the lotion, but the cream in the tub. It is very greasy, and helps to form a bearier and moistens also. |
