2- year molars!
I THINK the 2 year molars have made my son go totally bonkers! Up until now, we have had NO troubles with him sleeping- now he won't sleep in his bed and/or take naps easily. If we get him to sleep, he wakes up calling my name. We've tried letting him cry it out- he cried for two hours and was so hysterical! It was awful and I would not wish that on any parent-

My question: have any of you parents had sudden sleeping issues at the age of 2? If so, what was the solution?

Hi Amy,
My son's molars at 13 mos were terrible as well. I found his personality really changed at that time and the only thing that seemed to help was alot of cuddling. I broke some rules as far as bedtime...I couldn't take the crying out thing either. My words are not so much a solution but more to let you know it's a really difficult time. My son's pediatric dentist suggested softer snacks and foods. She even felt cheerios were too hard for their sore gums...I've been trying to pay attention to that when the teething issues pop up.

amy, my son is 21 months and already has his molars. yes, he was fussy and would have trouble sleeping from three to 7 days. when the pain finally goes away, there fine. we did give him tylenol only during his most painfull times (to help him sleep). the pain does go away, then there back to normal. but if the sleep problems persist you might want to get him a dr. visit.

Hi! Our son turned 2 in August, and the other day I counted only 8 teeth on top, so I know those 2 yr. molars are coming soon. He's been so fussy when we brush his teeth - I feel like we're torturing him, and it breaks my heart. He must be hurting, but we have to brush his teeth, right?
Anyway, Tylenol works well for us when he's been teething in the past...good luck!

Thanks so much for your responses- I suppose a little outside support is sometimes all you need. We are doing much better now with the bedtime and ok with naps. He is still up at 4 am!! Its all part of the journey...
Thanks again to all!
Amy
