My daughter is 2 months old and I have the same problem. I just can't bear to let her cry, as some (even my husband) has suggested to me. So, if there is anyone who can help, please give me some suggestions! |

I bought a great swing from Fisher-Price that saved my life with twins. They were rocked and at the same time that could see what was going on around them. It might help! |

I held the first child ALL THE TIME, even when he got heavy, even when he was old enough to toddle around - he wanted it and I was codependent. The second loved nothing better than his baby swing. It had a very loud wind-up mechanism and he would startle when I'd wind it while he was asleep, but never cry or wake-up. When he could crawl and walk (he walked at 7 1/2 months) he'd go over to it and ask to get in it. When he wasn't in that swing he was in my arms or hanging on to me. My third didn't like being held - she'd push away, stiffen up, look away, and generally make us both very uncomfortable. She cried and fussed when left alone in her crib, carrier, or swing, but didn't fight it like she did me. It kind of hurt my feelings that she didn't want to be held.
As for the screaming - if she's dry, fed, not in pain, and safe, let her go for a little bit. It might save your sanity to step out on the front porch for a bit. I personally believe that babies should be held quite a bit, but I also know that moms can only do so much with a baby on their hip and they need some time to themselves each day. |

My 3 month old daughter loves to be held as well and she does not care for a swing but Loves her vibrating chair. We just bought a new one by Fisher Price with a rain forest theme. I also have another fisher price one with a barnyard theme and I bring my daughter around the house in that when I am eating, cleaning, doing laundary, and when I need a break. |
