Hello! I am new to this group and just thought I would say hello to everyone! I have 3 girls, ages 4, almost 3 and a 13 month old! Needless to say they keep me busy. We just moved to the Winston Salem area of North Carolina and we dont know ANYONE! I am still trying to get all the roads stright. The prolbem is, we stay home...all day every day. My husband knows the area better then I do and I beg him to get us out after he get home from work but he's always "to tired". I was hoping to find a playgroup or even another family that could enjoy our company. If anyone is in our area PLEASE let me know!! And hello to everyone else!! Thanks!! |

Hi Diane, I don't live in your area but to find a playgroup for your girls I recommend you try meetup.com. Hope this helps you somewhat, I know when it was recommended to me that I've found several playgroups for my two kids and we've had a great time getting to know lots of kids and parents. Hoe to chat with you again. |

Hi Diane, I moved to a new town a few years ago and I was in the same boat as you. My friend was involved with the moms club in her town and told me I should join the one where I live. Try www.momsclub.com and there you can find one near you. We're all stay at home moms and needing to get out! We do all kinds of activites with the kids and also do Moms Night Out too! Lots of fun.. Good luck. |

Hey Diane,
I'm not from your area, but I needed new friends too and my sister told me about www.meetup.com and to look for local playgroups in your area.
I've joined 3 different playgroups and I enjoy them all. Good luck to you. Wish we were there to meet up. I think next year our family might get stationed in NC. =) |

Hi Diane! Totally understand what you are going through at the moment. I don't have three kids like you (bless your heart). But I have a 14 month old son who is just raring to go every second of the day. Plus we are a military family so moving is part of our normal routine. It is really tough to find new friends especially when you aren't sure where to look. We don't live in North Carolina otherwise we'd love to meet up. But you can try meetup.com and see if there are any local groups near your zipcode. If there aren't - you can start one. I'm sure there are plenty of other people in your situation that would be thrilled if you did. Also check with your new area's website, if they have one. Many times there are neat activities the community has planned - especially for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. Also I have found myself just going to a local park and I meet lots of other moms/kids. Oh, one more place to try....the local library. Many times they have programs for all different age groups so that you can meet other kids/moms. Sorry I can't help more! I'm still trying to gather ideas as my boy gets bigger and bigger! :) -Jen |
