Hi Holly!
This is a great group, I hope you enjoy it.

I'm on my way down from 180 to 115. Right noe I'm at 164 and starting to get excited about this weight loss!

Wow, Kelly, that is fantastic that you are in the 160's from 180. That is an inspiration for me. I am trying to get from 170 down to at least 130 ( maybe less). Same as you, I have always come up with excuses for slipping up on dieting and excercising. I am realizing that it is a lifestyle change, as I have said before. Great job on your losses so far!!!!

Thanks Jennifer. The really weird part is that after many years of dreading changing my eating habits all I can say is that now that I'm doing it, it's not hard at all!

I'm getting a little more exercise since I'm gardening with my friends now, but still not regularly doing anything. I figure I'll probably be lazy about that until I hit a plateau in my weight loss and then I'll be all over that treadmill, constantly watching FitTV, and finding reasons to go to the walking trail! LOL

Ladies it seems that I have hit a standstill. My weight has stopped at 138-140 I am trying to get to the mid 120's as that is a healthy weight for my height. I am watching what I am eating, but I am not as disciplined at you Kelly I wish that I could be mroe strict, but it is so hard to truly keep track of what I eat. I snack here and there, but not to the extent that I have to worry about over eating. I am running 2 days on 2 days off. I need to figure out what else to do. I am upset that I haven't seen results in a while. I hope everybody else is doing great in their goals. Let me know.

Do something different. Your body has grown used to what you are doing. I've heard the following suggestions: stop exercising for two weeks then go back to same routine; change the type of exercise you are doing, if you've been running, starting swimming, if you've been doing aerobics DVD's then start walking; add strength training if you haven't been doing it before; eat your maximum allowable calories every day for a week, then go to your minumum allowable calories.

I know I sound like a commercial, but sparkpeople.com can help set up a strength training routine and/or figure your calorie range for weight loss or maintenance.

I think that is so strange that our bodies get use to our excercise that it wont lose weight doing it anymore. Thank you for the advice though I will deffinetely try something new or adding something else into my routine. I will have to use my celeb fit club routine more often. I am going to check out that web site. Thanks again.

Hi Naomi. It's normal not to lose weight for a few weeks. Sometimes, you lose weight for a while and then it takes a few weeks to start losing weight again. I would recommend weigth lifting. I haven't exercised as much as I wanted to the last few weeks but I still have lost weight. I've lost 8 lbs since I joined this support group. I still need to lose 22lbs. The last three times I went to the YMCA, my son cried and I had to get him and take him home. So I've only had time to weight lift twice a week. The nice thing is that muscle will burn more fat, so the more muscular you get, the better. I've also noticed a big difference on my thighs and waist. Good luck to you and don't get discouraged.

Thank you Monique. I will deffinetely be trying to add more into my routine as well as adding new things to trick my body into thinking we are doing a whole new routine. I know how it can be some times. We take our daughter to the gym with us and she usually does pretty well, but there are days when she is unhappy. By the way she was such a big girl today we went and got her 9 mo old shots and she didn't even cry. My little super hero. Also we finger painted the other day and she loved it. That was excercise in itself to be able to wash the paint of. It was washable paint, but she wanted to play in the sink not get cleaned. Thanks again ladies.
