I was just wondering if anyone else bottlefeeds their child breastmilk. My daughter has a high palate & had trouble nursing so we bought a breastpump & just bottle feed her breast milk. Are we the only ones who ended up doing this? |

I do both bottle feed and nurse because my son is in daycare during the weekdays. We have had high success and there wasn't any nipple confusion. We used Dr Brown bottle and Avent. |

I pump every morning and give my son at least one bottle of breast milk per day. I am not comfortable breastfeeding in public so when we are out, I give him a bottle. In the beginning he had a tough time adjusting to bottles versus nipple, but he's doing great with it now. It certainly helps when my husband and I want a night out! Good luck Melanie |

My daughter will not nurse without the nippleshield since birth, but she eating breatmilk from a bottle once a day in day care and I have never had any problems. I just pump on the side she doesnt eat on in the morning and freeze the milk so I had a supply to give her later. |

I try and pump once a day, for storage, and than in I not around, someone else can feed my daughter. It gives you a little freedom but pumping can be a pain sometimes. I do have a friend who pumped and bottle feed her first child, she just wasn't interested in boob, now her second baby can't get enough, LOL.... Every baby is different, that's great that you guys found a system that works for you! |

I had a girl friend who's daughter had trouble latching and she pumped for 3 months and bottle fed, which I think is a fantastic and monumental achievement. I give you a lot of credit for giving breast milk this high a priority and would encourage you to keep doing it if you feel it's best for your daughter! Most people, I think would give up, but I would encourage you to keep doing it - even formula companies say that the breast is best.... So, great job! |

Hi Melanie... my son (born in March) doesn't nurse, but I have been pumping and bottle feeding him the breastmilk. Have you continued with this method? |
