Here is some advice. I only have one small child and when she was a few months old I put her in her bouncy seat in the bathroom while I showered. Now for your two year old, maybe she can sit quietly and watch a show, Einstien Videos are great. Good luck!! |

Oh my son is the good one, he sits in the carseat! Sophie is normally good about sitting and watching a show, but she will come in and ask me something. Then it gets very cold in the bathroom!!! SOmetimes I just can't find the time, because someone always needs something!! |

I've got a 9 month old son and everyday trying to take a shower is a huge ordeal. I've been trying a play pen with toys right outside the bathroom door, where he can hear me talking to him. That wasn't working, he was screaming the whole time. I had been trying a seat right outside the shower, but he wasn't happy with that because he was getting so active, that he didn't want to sit still. I tried the seat again today with toys and he somehow climbed out enough to tip over still seatbelted in. As I saw him tip over, I jumped out and saved him. I was covered in soap and shampoo and just gave up. My hair looks a little greesy today. Moms would understand, everyone else will think man that lady needs to wash her hair :-) |

Sophie on the other hand is talking to me, and asking me to help her with something, I say just give me five minutes!!!!! PLEASE! So I have been there it gets better, but trust me I still have my days with no shower!!! If we could have more hours in the day!! |

I only have five and a half month old and I used to bring him in the shower on his activity mat. Now I shower during his morning nap, which ranges from one to three hours. I remind myself that the worst thing that can happen is he wakes up and cries a little. Best case scenario is showering when Daddy or someone is home. |

Hey Jeanette. I also put my 5 1/2 month old in a bouncy chair while showering. As for my rambunctious 3yr. old, I now have him play in the bathroom while I am showering as well. He can't be trusted alone, he gets into too much. Or I just wait till my husband gets home, and then they are all his!!!!!!! |

I have 5 boys and let me tell you this is nasty but sometimes I have to go for like 2 or 3 days without taking a shower!! When I do take a shower I have like 5 seconds to get in and out lol just because my boys know that when mommy isn't around there's so much stuff to get into. My twins are the hardest because there small but their gonna be 1 on sunday. My showers are now limited to 5 minutes max now so I can take one every day...unless I wait until at night when they all go to sleep sometimes I do that. |

Shaving above the ankle is a foreign thing of the past. And, shaving up to the knee is a day that could be compared to getting ready for prom.. Slick ponytails are heaven sent, but with four children I notice how much better I function clean. So, make time whenever a night shower is better than no shower.. thank goodness children are forgiving when you are not at your finest..tammi |

Wow! So, why not shower at night when daddy's home if you can't fit it in during the day? The longest I went was two days when my son was a newborn. This was because I chose sleep over cleanliness. Then my husband "ordered" me to take a shower. :0) Hope you all get clean soon! |

Well it is funny because my daughter wanted to take a shower with me the other day and I said yes thinking she would not want to, so now I have my two year old in the shower with me and the baby in the car seat in the bathroom!! LOL. If I leave her out to watch a movie I forget that she is getting soooooo big and she can open the door and comes in clothes and diaper off and gets in the shower!! TOO CUTE! I don't mind as long as I get to shower, and as far as the husband goes I can shower when he gets home, but I like to shower in the morning before I go somewhere!!! |

I am glad the showering is going well for you Jeanette. Let's face it, we feel better after a good shower. Even if you have to put your kids in the shower with you. I love to take a bath, and the times I get to, my three year old wants to get in the tub with me. I aloud him once to, but I was afraid of him peeing in the water. Yeah, I know, weird. So, now, I just allow him to play outside the tub, while I am in it. Cheers to a clean body!!!!!! |

What a great post! I am so glad someone else goes through the same thing as I do when I try to shower. I have gotten into the habit of putting my 9 mth old into the playpen and then having my 4 yr old sit and make faces and talke to her. They are right outside the bathroom door where I can see them, but I still am racing to get done. I finally understand what the old Calgon comercials mean "Calgon take me away." |

I can totally relate. After my son was born I think I went three days in a row without showering...gross I know but I was extremely sleep deprived!!!! Ever since then I've showered after I put my son to sleep. My husband is home so I know if the baby should wake up he can be taken care of. Next to my son giving me his wet kisses all day the shower is the best 10 minutes of my day!!!! Try the showering at night if you can....it's very relaxing :-) Good Luck!!! |
