I have 2 sons 8 & 6. Both are somewhat delayed with their speech. Both of them so see the speech teacher in school. Does anyone have suggestions to help out more at home? Thanks. Nancy |

Hi Nancy and welcome! I use this particular website (teachmetotalk.com) for a lot of ideas for articulation and encouraging language. I have an almost 3 yr old that is delayed and has been in s/t since June. He is making progress, but the therapy is slow. Without the help of the teachmetotalk site and Laura Mize (the SLP owner of it) I would be lost! Jake's progress with the help of this site has been amazing!
It is geared more toward younger kids, but I think some of the articulation info may help you.
You might also want to check out: http://mommyspeechtherapy.com/?page_id=55
There are pictures you can print out that are geared toward "beginning/middle/ending" sounds that you can work on. (depending on where your sons' problems range.)
Hope this helps!

Hi, Nancy. My oldest son is almost 4, so I don’t have a whole lot of ideas (aside from practice everyday, which I’m sure you already do) to help. Possibly, you could find some age appropriate information under our “helpful links” section. If you know of any other links that may be helpful for us, feel free to add them. Is the school speech therapist not giving you much in the way of ideas of things to do at home? Or are you just looking for additional things to do to help? Welcome to the group and make yourself at home.
